Louie Teed

Hodson P.I. is proud to recognize Rachel Ingels as a recipient of the Hodson Truth & Integrity Scholarship.

Rachel attends Michigan State University’s James Madison College, where she is pursuing a double major in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy and Criminal Justice in preparation for law school. Through advocacy, leadership, and service, she has developed a strong interest in justice, representation, and creating opportunities for others.

Passion & Purpose

Passion & Purpose

Rachel has pursued her interest in law and public service through academics, research, and hands-on experience. As a lead prosecuting attorney on her high school mock trial team, she helped rebuild a previously inactive program and earned recognition as a Star Prosecuting Attorney. At Michigan State, she was selected as one of only two first-year Mowbray Scholars from a class of 14,000 and received a Professorial Assistantship to continue developing her academic interests.

Integrity & Character

Integrity & Character

Rachel has learned that integrity sometimes means recognizing when something is unfair and being willing to speak up. Through FIRST Robotics, she helped advocate for a teammate with cerebral palsy who was separated from the team during competitions because of accessibility seating policies. Their efforts contributed to new accommodations that allowed students with disabilities to remain alongside their teams, reinforcing Rachel’s belief in creating spaces where everyone feels included.

Leadership & Accountability

Leadership & Accountability

Throughout high school, Rachel served as Executive Board President and Class President, helping lead student initiatives, organize events, and represent her peers. As Miss Monroe County’s Teen 2024, she also used her platform to encourage young women to explore STEM education and leadership opportunities. These experiences taught her to approach leadership through listening, collaboration, and a responsibility to represent others thoughtfully.

Service & Impact

Service & Impact

Rachel has contributed to her community through the Ronald McDonald House, local food distribution programs, community clean-up efforts, and FIRST Robotics. She has also helped introduce younger students, particularly girls, to opportunities in STEM. Her commitment to service is influenced by the values of perseverance, compassion, and giving back that she learned from her late mother.

The Path Ahead

The Path Ahead

At Michigan State, Rachel plans to continue building on her interests in law, government, justice, and public service as she prepares for law school. Her experiences in advocacy, leadership, and service have given her a strong foundation for pursuing a future centered on ensuring others are represented and heard.

Hodson P.I. is honored to support Rachel as she continues this next chapter and proud to welcome her as a Hodson Truth & Integrity Scholar.
